Eat, Sleep, Cube—
sometimes inspiration is like that!
This collage is an example of
synchronicity in action.
I was working on the landscape,
and both the cube and the wooden texture of the table reminded me of Picasso’s early years; though mainly preoccupied with revolutionizing Cubism, he occasionally segued into collage and carved tableaus.
This wasn’t necessarily going to shine through in “Eat, Sleep, Cube,” but when I glanced back at the paper pile,
there he was—a sketched self-portrait from an academic article about Picasso and Cubism! So, of course I had to include it in the collage, and the rest is history.
The collage is part of “Collage 26,” a photobook by Wind Ma, which you can order through Amazon (or through edicionesplumaverde.com).
